For all you Porsche lovers who just can't get enough of that distinctive rear-mounted Porsche power this one is for you. German Porsche tuner Gemballa has just released a list of upgrades for the new Porsche 997. The car is so radically different from stock form that it deserves its own name, the Gemballa Avalanche GTR 800 EVO-R.
The list of upgrades includes an increase in displacement to 3.8-liters and a replacement of the stock turbochargers with Garret T035 units. Additional improvements to the engine include new heads, crankshaft, and upgraded connecting rods. What does this all up to? Drumroll please…an incredible 850 horsepower and 690 foot-pounds of torque!
To help keep all that power stuck to the ground, the 997 is equiped with an H&R coil over suspension system, adjustable front and rear anti-sway bars, and 19-inch wheels and Yokohama AVS Sport tires. Lastly, the 997 is topped off by a new fascia in the front and rear, a front hood, and a carbon fiber front splitter and rear wing.
